YEREVAN, June 5. /ARKA/. South Caucasus Railway CEO Viktor Rebets is now attending Strategic Partnership – 1520 International Rail Business Forum in Sochi on June 3 to 5, the company's press office reported on Friday.
Leaders of railway businesses in Russia, CIS and EU countries gathered in Sochi to coordinate their approaches to development of the railway industry in the 1520 space and to make system decisions on important aspects of the railway complex operation, which include optimization of transportation process, modernization of transport infrastructure, attraction of investments and production of modern rolling stock.
Some 1,400 specialists at railway operator companies and plants producing railway machinery as well as logistic, leasing and insurance companies from more than 30 countries are taking part in the event.
Important strategic international agreements aimed at development of railways in the 1520 space and contacts on supply and maintenance of railway machinery are being signed in Sochi as part of the forum.
South Caucasus Railway, a subsidiary of Russian Railways, runs Armenian Railway, which was handed over to the South Caucasus Railway on February 13, 2008 for 30-year concession management with a right to prolong the management term for other 10 years. ---0----
