State security service of food products in 2011 in Armenia fined over 70 economic entities in the amount of 6 million drams

YEREVAN, December 29. /ARKA/. State Food Security Service of Armenian Agriculture Ministry in 2011 fined over 70 economic entities in the amount of about 6 million drams, said on Thursday Head of the Service Abram Bakhchagyulyan to the journalists.

In 2011, the Service made inspections in 76 companies, of which 32 operate in the sphere of meat production, 11 – milk production, 9 – cheese production, as well as eight shops and retail trade points (among which are the largest chain of supermarkets “Yerevan City” and “Zovk”).

Bakhchagyulyan informed that violations detected in milk production mainly referred to the gaps and deficiencies in documentation, particularly wrong expiration dates, etc.

“We have also checked 32 points of meat sale in Yerevan. Almost in all the checked points we have detected violations, particularly lack of documentation on medical and sanitary expertise of sold products and insufficient sanitary-hygienic conditions. Cases were detected when horse meat was sold instead of meat of other animals”, he said.

He said that a case of existence of colon bacillus in beef meat was detected. Penalties for the listed violations vary from 30 to 500 thousand drams.

Bakhchagyulyan informed that during the holidays the employees of State Food Security Service will follow what is going on in trade points of food products in Yerevan.

“In case the consumer detects any violations, we kindly ask them to inform us by calling to the hot line 010 45 74 21 or send electronic message to the official site of the State Service (www.ssfs.am)”, he said. ($1 – 385.51 drams). --0--
