Two customs and logistics centers to be built in Armenia to "green" building standards

A program to build customs and logistics centers meeting "green" building standards is being implemented in Yerevan and Syunik.
YEREVAN, September 22. /ARKA/. A program to build customs and logistics centers meeting "green" building standards is being implemented in Yerevan and Syunik. As part of this program, Armenia’s State Revenue Committee (SRC) has signed a contract with a specialized international consultant—the joint venture CES Clean Energy Solutions GesmbH / iC consulenten LLC.
According to the SRC press service, the program aims to align the new infrastructure with international "green" building standards and secure certification under the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) system.
It was previously reported that the total cost of the two projects is estimated at €57 million.
Throughout the program's implementation, CES Clean Energy Solutions GesmbH / iC consulenten LLC will provide technical support for the execution of design and construction solutions in compliance with LEED requirements and the process of obtaining the relevant certifications.
The work will involve evaluating and, where necessary, refining design solutions to address requirements regarding energy efficiency, water resource efficiency, renewable energy use, natural lighting and indoor environmental quality, efficient use of construction materials and resources, waste management, and the reduction of environmental impact.
The goal is for the customs and logistics centers in Yerevan and Syunik to achieve at least LEED Silver certification or higher.
About the customs and logistics centers
On July 30, 2026, the Government of Armenia approved grant agreements with the EBRD for the construction of customs and logistics centers in Yerevan and Syunik. The total cost of the two projects is approximately €57 million, comprising €49 million in EBRD loans and €8 million in grants.
The cost of the Yerevan center project is €45 million, consisting of an EBRD loan of up to €39 million and an EU grant of up to €6 million. The center will be built in the village of Proshyan in the Kotayk region.
The cost of the Syunik center project is €12 million, comprising a €10 million EBRD loan and a €2 million grant. The center will be located near the village of Shaki, approximately 7 km from Sisian.
Both facilities are planned to be built according to international green building standards and will obtain environmental certification. The projects also include the digitalization of procedures, a "single-window" approach, technical supervision, and advisory support.
