Volume of construction in Armenia in January-February increased by 12.2%, to 44.7 billion drams

The volume of construction work in Armenia for January-February 2025 amounted to 44,648.1 million drams (at current prices), an increase of 12.2% compared to January-February 2024, according to the National Statistical Committee of the Republic.

YEREVAN, April 8. /ARKA/. The volume of construction work in Armenia for January-February 2025 amounted to 44,648.1 million drams (at current prices), an increase of 12.2% compared to January-February 2024, according to the National Statistical Committee of the Republic.

In February, this figure reached 25,394.6 million drams, which is a 12.7% increase compared to February of last year. The volume of construction funded by the state budget for the reporting period amounted to 4,457.3 million drams, or 10% of the total volume of construction work (a decline of 3.8% compared to January-February 2024).

The volume of construction funded by community funds amounted to 1,440.3 million drams (share: 3.2%, decline: 11%), by humanitarian aid – 48.3 million drams (share: 0.3%, decline: 48.3%), by organizations – 25,588.5 million drams (share: 57.3%, growth: 16.1%), and by the population – 13,023.9 million drams (share: 29.2%, growth: 15.9%).

At the same time, the volume of construction funded by international loans for the first two months amounted to 1,746.1 million drams (share: 3.9%), showing a 14.5% decline compared to the same period last year. 

The distribution of international loans is as follows: the World Bank provided 229.2 million drams, the European Bank for Reconstruction and development – 382.8 million drams, the Asian Development Bank – 997.5 million drams, the German Development Bank – 31.1 million drams, and other organizations – 105.5 million drams.

The majority of the construction work was related to real estate activities (volume: 25,176.8 million drams, share in total: 56.4%), the provision of electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning (volume: 5,407.9 million drams, share: 12.1%), and transportation (volume: 2,483.2 million drams, share: 5.6%).
