Water level at Armenia’s ponds is favorable for agriculture in 2015, Armenia’s minister of agriculture Sergo Karapetyan said at a government meeting on Thursday.

YEREVAN, June 4. /ARKA/. Water level at Armenia’s ponds is favorable for agriculture in 2015, Armenia’s minister of agriculture Sergo Karapetyan said at a government meeting on Thursday.
In January-February the ministry was concerned about insufficient water level in ponds due to low precipitation, but frequent rains in mid-March, April and May rectified the situation, Karapetyan said.
Akhuryan water reservoir is currently 93% full (44% more than last year), Aparan reservoir is 46% full (16% increase compared to the last year) and Azat reservoir is 82% full (16% increase from the last year), the minister said.
Efforts were made in Armavir region to use artesian wells for irrigation this year and avoid problems experienced there last year, the minister said. –0—
