YEREVAN, December 11. /ARKA/. The World Bank expects Armenia's GDP to grow 2.2% in 2016 and 2.7% in 2017, Laura E. Bailey, World Bank Country Manager for Armenia, told journalists on Friday.

She said that this time the World Bank's outlook coincides with that of the Armenian government.

Bailey said that not only Armenia's economy, but also economic developments in the region are taken into account in the World Bank's forecasts.

This time the outlook for Armenia was impacted by slow economic growth in Europe, the ongoing economic decline in Russia and oil prices.

In the 2016 government budget approved yesterday by the National Assembly, GDP growth is projected at 2.2%, GDP deflator index at 4%, year-on-year inflation at 4% (±1.5%) and deficit at 3.5% of GDP.

In late October, the Central Bank of Armenia raised its 2015 economic growth outlook to 3.2-3.9%.

In its latest outlooks, the World Bank said it expected a 0.8% growth in 2015. The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development predicted 2.3%, Eurasian Development Bank 2.0-2.5% and the International Monetary Fund 2.5% and Asian Development Bank 1.2%. ---0----
