Telephone call warning about bomb planted at Armenia’s international Zvartnots airport appears to be false
YEREVAN, May 19. /ARKA/. A telephone call made by a 30-35-year-old man warning about a bomb ostensibly planted at Armenia’s international Zvartnots airport appeared to be false, Nikolay Grigorian, a spokesman for Armenian Emergency Ministry, said.
“I was just told that no bomb has been found and the alarm has been canceled,” he said.
The call was made by an unidentified at about 15:30 local time, following which the law-enforcement authorities evacuated the airport and cancelled all flights.
The emergency ministry said the call was made from a city telephone booth. A spokesman for the Zvartnost airport said the airport has resumed operating in its usual regime.
All this time passengers who have arrived from Moscow and Sochi remained inside their aircrafts.
Zvartnots airport is run by Armenia – International Airports CJSC in accordance with the 30-year concession management agreement signed between the CJSC and the Armenian government in 2001.
American International Airports, an Argentine company belonging to Eduardo Eurnekian, is the owner of the Armenia – International Airports. -0-
