YEREVAN, January 21. /ARKA/. Armenian investigators are interrogating Valery Permyakov, suspect for Gyumri murders, Novosti-Armenia reports referring to Sona Truzyan, advisor to the chairman of the Investigation Committee.

On January 12, Armenian law-enforcement bodies said a Russian soldier, Valery Permyakov from the Russian military base in Gyumri was suspected of killing a couple, their son and daughter-in-law, a two-year-old granddaughter, and an unmarried daughter.

They all were found shot dead in their house on January 12. The couple's six-month-old grandson died this Monday in a hospital.

Valery Permyakov was detained on January 13, shortly after midnight, while trying to cross the border into Turkey dressed in civilian clothing. He confessed his guilt and will face trial in Armenia’s territory.

Truzyan also said Armenian law enforcement agencies are investigating the case in cooperation with Russian colleagues.

She said that the Armenian side charged him with killing two and more people.

The same charge was brought against him by the Russian side along with the accusation of desertion with a gun received for service. Alexander Bastrikin, chairman of Russia's Investigation Committee, and his Armenian counterpart Aghvan Hovsepyan arranged for joint investigation. ---0----
