Armenian- Russian humanitarian center in Getargel to open in near future

The Armenian-Russian humanitarian response center will open in the Armenian community of Getargel in the near future, Armenian Ministry of Territorial Administration and Emergency Situations said Monday.

YEREVAN, November 24. /ARKA/. The Armenian-Russian humanitarian response center will open in the Armenian community of Getargel in the near future, Armenian Ministry of Territorial Administration and Emergency Situations said Monday.
Armen Yeritsyan, the Minister of Territorial Administration and Emergency Situations, visited the center on Monday to see how much of the work has been done. He also spoke to the staff and was shown facilities for storing humanitarian assistance.
The agreement between the Russian and Armenia government on creation of the Russian-Armenian Humanitarian Center was signed in 2015 May. The agreement will allow for quick and efficient response to emergency situations in these two and other countries.
The employees of the center will be able to take part in disaster management activity, provide emergency humanitarian aid to people affected by disasters, implement joint projects and programs in Armenia and third countries, enhance professional level of disaster management specialists and train humanitarian demining specialists. -0-
