High winds expected in Armenia

Armenia's Ministry of Emergency Situations warned about the threat of high winds in the country in the coming days.

YEREVAN, December 2. /ARKA/. Armenia's Ministry of Emergency Situations warned about the threat of high winds in the country in the coming days.
"As a result of clashes of cold and warm air masses in the country today and tomorrow the winds in some parts of the country are expected to increase up to 15-20 meters per second, with gusts reaching the speed of 20-25 meters per second," the ministry said.
In accordance with the 12-point Beaufort scale, adopted by the World Meteorological Organization for the approximate evaluation of wind speed, storm (9 points) is considered to be a wind with the speed of 20.8-24.4 meters per second. Among the possible consequences on the ground are slight damages, including tearing away roofs. -0-
