YEREVAN, November 4. /ARKA/. Popular Armenian satirist Vardan Petrosyan has been discharged from hospital, head of press office of Erebuni Medical Center in Yerevan Shushan Hunanyan reported as quoted by Novosti-Armenia.
On October 20 a two-car collision occurred on Yeghvard-Yerevan road late evening. One of the drivers and six passengers were transferred to hospital; two of them died later. Armenian satirist Vardan Petrosyan was among the injured: he was transferred to hospital and underwent a surgery there.
A criminal proceeding was instituted on violation of safe traffic causing death of two or more civilians (from four to ten years of imprisonment).
Hunanyan also said another victim of the car accident had been discharged from hospital a week ago. This means all the injured have already recovered.
Vardan Petrosyan became popular in the end of the 80ies when he, together with a beginner playwright Vahram Sahakyan, founded his own small comedy theatre “Vozniner”. In 90ies the actor moved to France and continued his career, particularly at Theatre Marigny led by Robert Hossein.
Petrosyan’s satiric shows in Yerevan were sold out for every performance. –0-
