President Sargsyan sends telegrams of condolence over Algerian plane crash

Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan sent a telegram of condolence to President Francois Hollande of the French Republic on the occasion of the tragic air crash of an Air Algeria plane flying from Burkina Faso to Algeria which resulted in the loss of numerous victims, including about 5 dozen French citizens.

YEREVAN, July 29, /ARKA/. Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan sent a telegram of condolence to President Francois Hollande of the French Republic on the occasion of the tragic air crash of an Air Algeria plane flying from Burkina Faso to Algeria which resulted in the loss of numerous victims, including about 5 dozen French citizens.

“Sharing the sorrow and pain of the victims’ relatives and the friendly people of France in this difficult situation, I would like to express my heartfelt condolences and support and I wish you patience and strong spirit,” reads Sargsyan’s telegram of condolence. 

President Serzh Sargsyan sent also a telegram of condolences to President Abdelaziz Bouteflika of the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria. The Armenian President extended his heartfelt condolences and support to the Algerian President and the brotherly people of Algeria and wished the victims’ relatives steadfastness and patience

Flight AH5017 was en route from Burkina Faso’s capital Ouagadougou to the Algerian capital city of Algiers when it crashed. All 118 on board the plane were killed. The plane had been chartered from Swiftair, a private Spanish company.

Passengers were from many countries including France, Burkina Faso, Lebanon, Algeria and Spain. The plane crashed in Mali's remote barren Gossi area, not far from the border with Burkina Faso. -0-
