Russian low-cost airline denied media reports about hard landing in Armenia

Russian low-cost airline Pobeda (a division of Aeroflot), which operates direct flights from Moscow to Armenia's second-largest town of Gyumri, denied media reports which claimed that a Pobeda aircraft sustained serious damage due to hard landing at Gyumri airport, TASS news agency reported citing the carrier.

YEREVAN, August 20. /ARKA/. Russian low-cost airline Pobeda (a division of Aeroflot), which operates direct flights from Moscow to Armenia's second-largest town of Gyumri, denied media reports which claimed that a Pobeda aircraft sustained serious damage due to hard landing at Gyumri airport, TASS news agency reported citing the carrier.
The airline said an after-flight inspection in Gyumri revealed damage sustained to the tail heel designed to protect the fuselage. It said the tail heel touched ground when going for the second round. No passengers or crew sustained injuries, it added.
'Thus, media reports about a hard landing are not true.' It said another aircraft was flying to Gyumri for return flight passengers.
Earlier, the Civil Aviation Committee of Armenia reported that the plane made a hard landing, damaging the tail. A special commission will be created to find out the causes of the incident, it said - 0--
