Armenia and Israel did not allow to adopt applications on Turkish-Israeli conflict by mediterranean ombudsmen

Armen Harutyunyan, Ombudsman of Armenia and Mikha Lindenstraus, State Controller and Ombudsman of Israel did not allow to adopt joint application on the conflict between Turkey and Israel by United Mediterranean Ombudsmen.
YEREVAN, June 16. /ARKA/. Armen Harutyunyan, Ombudsman of Armenia and Mikha Lindenstraus, State Controller and Ombudsman of Israel did not allow to adopt joint application on the conflict between Turkey and Israel by United Mediterranean Ombudsmen.
Armen Harutyunyan was selected plenipotentiary member of organization during the general meeting of United Mediterranean Ombudsmen.
During the general meeting along with other issues, proposal of chairman of committee on human rights of Turkey on the development and publication of special application on blockade of sector Gaza by Israel, as well as the conflict between military forces of Israel and Turkish ship were discussed.
Relations between Israel and Turkey became complicated after capture of “Flotilla of freedom” by Israeli military forces, six ships with humanitarian aid to the blocked sector Gaza on May 31, 2010. During special operation nine people died. Eight of them were citizens of Turkey. The ninth victim was American of Turkish origin.
Union of Mediterranean Ombudsmen was established in 2008 on the basis of the network of Mediterranean Ombudsmen. Members of the Union are committees of human rights’ protection, scientific-research institutions of Spain, France and Greece. The goal of the Union is provision and protection of democracy, supremacy of law and social justice.
The tasks of the Union are expansion of national and international legislation in the sphere of human rights’ protection, general declaration of human rights and their support. --0--
