YEREVAN, September 16, /ARKA/. Within the framework of an official visit to Tehran, Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian met the President of the Islamic Republic, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, to discuss a set of issues pertaining to Armenian-Iranian cooperation, the press office of Armenian foreign ministry said.

It said Iran’s President and Armenia’s Foreign Minister praised the ongoing cooperation between the two countries, emphasizing reciprocal high-level visits that have become more frequent recently. They also said an effective economic cooperation has been established, mutually beneficial programs are being implemented.

The two men discussed also the process of implementation of agreements reached during Iranian President’s visit to Armenia in April 2009. Armenian Foreign Minister appreciated the attitude of the Iranian authorities towards the local Armenian community. President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad asked the minister to convey his warm greetings and good wishes to Armenia’s President Serzh Sargsyan. -0-
