Armenia and Nagorno-Karabakh Republic should unite if Azerbaijan resumes war, Kiro Manoyan, head of Armenian Revolutionary Federation Dashnaktsutiun’s Hay Dat office, said at a news conference on Friday.

YEREVAN, December 3. /ARKA/. Armenia and Nagorno-Karabakh Republic should unite if Azerbaijan resumes war, Kiro Manoyan, head of Armenian Revolutionary Federation Dashnaktsutiun’s Hay Dat office, said at a news conference on Friday.

“If Azerbaijan resumes fighting, Armenia will be left with no option but to recognize Nagorno-Karabakh Republic’s independence and also announce unification of Armenia and Karabakh,” he said.

In his opinion, Armenia should recognize Karabakh’s independence if negotiations reach a deadlock, without waiting for aggression from Azerbaijani side.

Manoyan added that ruling and opposition parties should take a right stance on the idea of recognition of Karabakh’s independence.

Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan, speaking Thursday at the OSCE summit in Astana, said that Armenia will have to recognize Karabakh’s independence in the event of aggression from Azerbaijani side. -0—
