NKR’S PRESIDENT: RECOGNITION OF KARABAKH BY ARMENIA NOT SOLUTION TO PROBLEM

Armenia could recognize Karabakh any time, but it is not a solution to the problem, the President of Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR) Arkady Ghukasian said in Yerevan Tuesday.
YEREVAN, July 3. /ARKA/. Armenia could recognize Karabakh any time, but it is not a solution to the problem, the President of Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR) Arkady Ghukasian said in Yerevan Tuesday.
“It will somehow answer some questions, and we will do it once we see it needs to be done today,” Ghukasian said.
He pointed out that the independence path chosen by Karabakh is one of the compromises with Azerbaijan - NKR is part of neither Armenia nor Azerbaijan.
“Besides, this way we tried to save Armenia from additional complications as it is clear that pressure would be put on Armenia,” he said. According to him, that is what Azerbaijan tries to do today.
“Azerbaijan wants to convince the world that Armenia is an aggressor who occupied the territories of Azerbaijan hoping that certain sanctions will be applied against Armenia,” Ghukasian said. N.V. –0—
