More people arrive in Armenia in June than leave it

Chief of Armenian State Migration Service, an affiliation of Territorial Administration Ministry, said today more people arrived in Armenia in the first summer month than left it.
YEREVAN, July 29. / ARKA /. Chief of Armenian State Migration Service, an affiliation of Territorial Administration Ministry, said today more people arrived in Armenia in the first summer month than left it.
Speaking at a news conference, Gagik Yeganian, head of the agency, said 160,235 people arrived in Armenia in June and 158,224 people left it.
According to him, it was the surplus over the first six months of 2011, linked most likely with the beginning of holiday season. According to the statistical data, the majority of citizens arrived in Yerevan by air and road transport.
In 2000 some 57,000 Armenians left their country for good, in 2001 their umber rose to 60,000 , in 2004-2005 more people arrived in Armenia than left it, but in recent years some 23,000-29,000 Armenians are believed to have left their country for good. -0-
