Armenian president to leave for dushanbe

RA President Robert Kocharyan is to leave for Dushanbe, Tajikistan, on Friday to take part in a meeting of the Council of the Heads of State of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS).
YEREVAN, October 4. /ARKA/. RA President Robert Kocharyan is to leave for Dushanbe, Tajikistan, on Friday to take part in a meeting of the Council of the Heads of State of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), a session of the Council of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) and in a meeting of the EurAsEc Interstate Council.
The RA presidential press service reports that the President-led Armenian delegation includes RA Minister of Defense Mikael Harutyunyan, Head of the presidential administration, Secretary of the RA National Security Council Armen Gevorgyan, other officials and journalists.
The sitting of the Council of the CIS Heads of State is to begin with a presidential meeting to be followed by a plenary meeting.
The principal issue on the agenda is a concept of the CIS’s further development and a relevant program of measures.
The participants in the meeting of the CSTO Heads of State are to exchange views on the organization’s priority activities in the 2nd half of 2007 and in the first half of 2008.
The meeting participants are also to discuss a number of documents supposed to enlarge the contractual basis for political and military cooperation between the CSTO member-states.
The RA President is also to take part in a meeting of the EurAsEc Interstate Council as an observer.–0--
