The draft constitutional amendments worked out by Armenia's Commission for Constitutional Reforms will be put for public discussion, Deputy Justice Minister Arsen Mkrtchyan, said on Thursday.

YEREVAN, July 16. /ARKA/. The draft constitutional amendments worked out by Armenia's Commission for Constitutional Reforms will be put for public discussion, Deputy Justice Minister Arsen Mkrtchyan, said on Thursday.
He said that the commission will take into account all the opinions.
On Wednesday, the commission released the project of the first seven articles of the Constitution which imply transition to parliamentary governance.
In accordance with the draft constitutional amendments, the Armenian president is elected for seven years instead of the present five and not by the population, but by a voter assembly made up of MPs and the same quantity of elected representatives of local authorities.
The draft constitutional amendments also imply that the Armenian president can't be a party member and that one person may be elected as president only once. ----0----
