Armenia sees US interest in ensuring peace in South Caucasus – Foreign Minister

YEREVAN, March 26. /ARKA/. The Armenian side views the US's interest in ensuring peace in the South Caucasus, said Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan.
"President Trump and his team spoke about peace throughout the world. And since we are extremely committed to peace, this is encouraging. We are in contact with the US administration to understand what can be done to achieve lasting peace in the South Caucasus," he said in an interview with the Brazilian daily Correio Braziliense.
At the same time, the minister noted that Armenia is advancing in its partnership with the new US administration.
"A few months ago, we signed a very important document with the US—the Strategic Partnership Charter. It elevates the level of our relations with the US. We have already had several meetings and exchanges with our American partners," said Ararat Mirzoyan.
The US-Armenia Strategic Partnership Charter was signed in Washington on January 14, 2025, by Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan and US Secretary of State Antony Blinken. The charter covers areas such as the development of nuclear energy, defense cooperation, and the training of police and other security services.
