Armenia will make its own decision regarding its European prospects, stated Kaja Kallas, Vice-President of the European Commission and High Representative of the EU for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy.

YEREVAN, May 4. /ARKA/. Armenia will make its own decision regarding its European prospects, stated Kaja Kallas, Vice-President of the European Commission and High Representative of the EU for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy.

"Armenia makes its own decisions. Elections will be held here in a month. Of course, the European prospect is on the table, and Armenia will decide for itself," said Kaja Kallas, High Representative of the EU for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, in Yerevan on Monday, responding to a question from Azatutyun about Armenia's EU membership prospects.

On June 7, Armenia will hold its next parliamentary elections.

Armenia – EU National Assembly of Armenia

On March 26, 2025, the National Assembly approved the draft law on the country's accession to the European Union. The law was signed by the President of Armenia on April 4.

On December 2, 2025, the Armenia-EU strategic partnership agenda was signed in Brussels. The Foreign Ministry explained that it reflects not only the European aspirations of Armenian citizens but also the EU's commitment to supporting sovereignty, territorial integrity, democracy, and socioeconomic sustainability.

RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated that Armenia is moving toward compliance with EU standards while maintaining its membership in the EAEU.
