YEREVAN, March 18. /ARKA/. Armenia is developing a new document on cooperation with the European Union, Deputy Foreign Minister Paruyr Hovhannisyan said on Friday.

According to him, the signing of this document is planned for July this year.

"After the full implementation of the Armenia-EU Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement (CEPA), we will really reach the status of readiness of a candidate country for EU membership," the deputy minister said at a meeting of the National Assembly's European Integration Committee.

Along with this, as Hovhannisyan noted, new directions of cooperation and new programs are being developed, which emerged as a result of the fact-finding mission held last November.

"Now, together with these two processes and an expression of our political rapprochement, a new document is being drafted. Some issues on it have already been discussed in the Armenia-EU Partnership Council and at other working levels. We expect to receive a new draft document in May, which will probably be adopted closer to July," the Deputy Minister said.

The Armenia-EU Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement (CEPA), the ratification process of which lasted about 3 years, entered into force on March 1, 2021. --0--
