Armenia FM meets French, U.S. and Russian ambassadors to discuss situation in Nagorno-Karabakh

YEREVAN, March 28. /ARKA/. Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan had today separate meetings with  French Ambassador to Armenia Anne Louyot and U.S. Ambassador Lynne Tracy, the press service of the Armenian Foreign Ministry reported.

It said the key topic of discussion was the situation created in Nagorno-Karabakh as a result of the invasion of the Azerbaijani armed forces into the zone of responsibility of Russian peacekeeping contingent.

Mirzoyan said Azerbaijan’s ongoing provocations against the civilian population of Nagorno-Karabakh and aggressive actions, as well as attempts to deliberately disrupt the normal operation of vital infrastructures was inadmissible.

Mirzoyan was said to have stressed also the importance of proper and targeted response of the international community to the current situation. He added that Azerbaijani troops must pull out from the territory of Nagorno-Karabakh and take steps to de-escalate the tension.

Earlier on Monday, at a meeting with the Russian Ambassador to Armenia, Sergey Kopyrkin Ararat Mirzoyan stressed that the Russian peacekeepers were taking measures to return Azerbaijani armed forces from the village of Parukh, which is in the zone of their responsibility, to their initial positions. -0-
