Armenia hopes for joining Eurasian Economic Union very soon

Armenia hopes that it will sign an agreement very soon to join the Eurasian Economic Union, Armenian Ambassador to Belarus Armen Khachatryan was quoted by Novosti-Armenia as saying Tuesday in Minsk.

YEREVAN, September 23. /ARKA/. Armenia hopes that it will sign an agreement very soon to join the Eurasian Economic Union, Armenian Ambassador to Belarus Armen Khachatryan was quoted by Novosti-Armenia as saying Tuesday in Minsk. 

“We hope the agreement will be signed very soon and we’ll join the Eurasian Economic Union,” Novosti-Armenia quoted him referring to RIA Novosti. 

In his words, preparations for accession to the union have already reached the final stage. 

On September 1, 2014, Russian President Vladimir Putin accepted the government’s proposal to sign the accession agreement with Armenia. 

Earlier, the Eurasian Economic Commission reported that the final version of the treaty had already been sent to the governments of Russia, Kazakhstan, Belarus and Armenia for carrying necessary procedures.  

The Eurasian economic Union is being established as part of Eurasian integration on the basis of the Russia, Kazakhstan and Belarus’ Customs Union. ---0----
