Armenian army acts in accordance with the logic of peace agenda – the Foreign Ministry responded to Azerbaijan’s accusations

YEREVAN, March 19. /ARКА/. The Government of the Republic of Armenia has stated at the highest level that it has no intention or goal of escalating the situation and continues to act in accordance with the principles of the peace agenda. This is stated in a statement by the press secretary of the Armenian MFA Ani Badalyan in response to a question from the Armenpress agency about the basis for the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry's accusations against Yerevan about the violation of the ceasefire.

"The Armenian Army is a body subordinate to the government and acts in accordance with this logic," Badalyan noted.

From March 16 to 19, the Armenian Defense Ministry refuted the reports of the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry about shooting on the border by the Armenian Armed Forces nine times.

Badalyan recalled that the Armenian Defense Ministry stated its readiness to investigate the facts confirming the reports of the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry about the violation of the ceasefire if they are conveyed to Armenia.

"I must state that to date, Azerbaijan has not provided Armenia with any factual data regarding the ceasefire violations by the Armenian Armed Forces. Azerbaijan has also not yet responded to Armenia's proposal made on June 22, 2024, to establish a joint mechanism to investigate cases of ceasefire violations and/or similar information," she added.
