YEREVAN, February 10. /ARKA/. 'The activity of the trilateral group headed by the deputy prime ministers of Armenia, Azerbaijan and Russia on unblocking transportation communications and resumption of economic ties between Armenia and Azerbaijan is interrupted and 'frozen', if one can put it that way,” Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin said in an interview with Russian daily 'Izvestia'.

He said Moscow urges the parties and “first of all our Armenian friends' to return to work within the framework of this group.

“The Russian side is always ready to provide all possible assistance to the parties if they so wish,” Galuzin said.

He emphasized that Russia is against the conclusion of any hasty agreements between Armenia and Azerbaijan, as demanded by the West, which is very eager to push Armenia and Azerbaijan to conclude a peace treaty on any Western platform as soon as possible.

“Such hasty, ill-considered and not fully verified decisions may lead not to long-term sustainable peace, but on the contrary, lay some ground of confrontation for the future, which, of course, we consider extremely undesirable neither for Armenia and Azerbaijan, nor for the South Caucasus, nor for Russia,” Galuzin said.-0-
