Armenian and Azerbaijan presidents agreed to give fresh push to further negotiations on peaceful settlement of Karabakh conflict

The presidents of Armenia and Azerbaijan, Serzh Sargsyan and Ilham Aliyev, agreed to give a fresh push to further negotiations to reach a peaceful settlement of the Karabakh conflict, the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs said in a statement following a Sargsyan-Aliyev meeting in Vienna today.
YEREVAN, November 19. / ARKA /. The presidents of Armenia and Azerbaijan, Serzh Sargsyan and Ilham Aliyev, agreed to give a fresh push to further negotiations to reach a peaceful settlement of the Karabakh conflict, the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs said in a statement following a Sargsyan-Aliyev meeting in Vienna today.
The meeting held at Palais Coburg hotel was attended also by the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs Igor Popov (Russia), Jacques Faure (France) and James Warlick (USA), as well as by Andrzej Kasprzyk, the personal representative of the OSCE chairman-in -office.
According to the statement, the presidents agreed to give impetus to further negotiations aimed at reaching a peaceful settlement , and instructed their foreign ministers to continue the work together with the Minsk Group co-chairs on the basis of what has been done so far in order to intensify the peace process.
"During a private face to face meeting and the following working meeting with the foreign ministers and Minsk group co-chairs the presidents discussed a wide range of issues related to the settlement of the Nagorno- Karabakh conflict,” the statement says.
The co-chairs also said that the presidents agreed to meet again in the coming months. As a next step, the co-chairs will organize meetings with foreign ministers of the two countries "in the fringes" of an OSCE Ministerial Council meeting, to be held December 5-6 in Kiev.
The mediators are planning to visit the region before the end of this year. -0-
