Armenian and Portuguese presidents outline prospects for cooperation between their countries
YEREVAN, April 10. /ARKA/. Armenian President Armen Sarkissian met Tuesday with Portuguese President Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa as part of his working visit to Portugal, the press office of the Armenian president reports. 

According to the press office’s report, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, pointing out close historical and cultural ties between the two countries and nations, spoke with great respect about Calouste Gulbenkian, who was prominent Portuguese businessman and philanthropist of Armenian descent, and about his foundation.  
Sarkissian, on his side, rated highly the activity of Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, said that it is a peculiar bridge in Armenian-Portuguese relations. 

The two countries’ presidents exchanged opinions about areas for cooperation. They was united in thinking that the countries can have establish successful partnership in education, science and advanced technologies. 

Speaking about the program of construction of a station for launching space satellites in Portugal, Sarkissian said that Armenia has a great scientific potential in this area.  

The presidents of the countries also singled out tourism as promising area for cooperation. Armen Sarkissian invited Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa to visit Armenia. --0---
