Armenian citizens most expect military-political assistance from France

YEREVAN, March 4. /ARKA/. Some 46% of respondents of a public opinion poll conducted by the Armenian office of GALLUP International expect military and political assistance to their country from France.
The results of the poll were released today by Aram Navasardyan, head of the Armenian office of GALLUP International.
According to him, 23.2% expect assistance from India, 21.9% from Russia, 15.9% from Iran, 13.7% from the United States and 4.9% from China.
Navasardyan noted that 8.5% named other countries as a source of military and political assistance, while 14.5% of respondents said there is no such country and 5% found it difficult to answer.
Some 1,100 respondents took part in the telephone survey conducted from February 26 to 28.
After Russia failed to supply Armenia with weapons under a $250 million contract, (paid in advance) Armenia began looking for new partners to boost its defense capabilities, buying weapons from India and France.-0-
