Armenian defense ministry: part of Azerbaijani troops left to their original positions

YEREVAN, May 24. /ARKA/. Armenia's Defense Ministry denied Sunday mass media reports claiming that more than 100,000 Azerbaijani soldiers amassed on a section of the Armenia- Azerbaijan border near Sev Lich (Black Lake) in Syunik province, saying the reports were lies.
The ministry said part of Azerbaijani troops that had advanced into the Armenian territory on May 12 returned to their original positions.
"After the provocations carried out by Azerbaijan’s forces on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border the situation is relatively stable, as of noon on May 23 no incidents have been recorded. Late on May 22 part of Azerbaijani forces that had entered Armenian soil, returned to their original positions," the ministry said in a statement
On May 20, Acting Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said about 500-600 Azerbaijani soldiers continued to remain in various parts of the Armenian territory. According to him, the situation in Syunik and Gegharkunik regions was unchanged. He said also that the Armenian Armed Forces worked to limit the potential actions of Azerbaijanis. -0-
