Armenian Deputy PM and new head of EU Delegation discussed CEPA and EUMA

YEREVAN, September 15. /ARKA/. Armenian Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan received on Friday the newly appointed head of the EU Delegation to Armenia, Ambassador Vasilis Maragos, the government press service reported.
It said both sides highly assessed the level of Armenia-EU relations. In this context, the work of the EU civilian observation mission (EUMA) deployed on the Armenian side of the border with Azerbaijan was highlighted.
Grigoryan and Maragos highlighted also the application of the Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement (CEPA) between Armenia and EU in terms of the implementation of reforms. An agreement was reached on joint efforts for increasing the efficiency of the process of the application of the Agreement.
The sides also discussed the implementation of the programs implemented within the framework of the EU Economic and Investment Plan. In this context cooperation with the EU financial organizations was highlighted.
About the EU Mission to Armenia
The EU Mission in Armenia (EUMA) was deployed on February 20, 2023 on the Armenian side of the Armenian-Azerbaijani border. It is tasked with observing and reporting on the situation on the ground; contributing to human security in conflict-affected areas and based on the above, contributing to building confidence between populations of both Armenia and Azerbaijan and, where possible, their authorities. The Mission has a two-year mandate and involves up to 100 staff, including EU experts and monitors.
The operational headquarters of the EU mission is located in Yeghegnadzor (Vayots Dzor province). It also has operational hubs in Kapan, the administrative center of Syunik province and in Ijevan, the capital of Tavush province. -0-
