Ruben Hayrapetyan, president of Armenia’s Football Federation, intends to run for a seat in National Assembly in an individual race.
YEREVAN, March 2. /ARKA/. Ruben Hayrapetyan, president of Armenia’s Football Federation, intends to run for a seat in National Assembly in an individual race.
“Our party (the ruling Republican Party of Armenia) has decided that I should run in parliamentary elections,” he said at a news conference on Friday. “I can’t say precisely in which district I will run. It depends on what constituency needs me.”
Earlier, Hayrapetyan said he had no intention to run. He also said that he would quit politics and concentrate his attention on his business and football.
The 2012 parliamentary elections are scheduled for May 6.
Hayrapetyan had won a parliament seat in individual races twice – in 2003 and 2007.-0--
