Armenian foreign minister says Baku lacks political will to sign peace treaty with Yerevan

YEREVAN, 2 October. /ARKA/. Armenia sees no political will on the part of Azerbaijan to sign a peace treaty with Armenia, Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan said.
'There is almost a final draft of the peace treaty with Azerbaijan, but it has not been signed as Azerbaijan puts forward new preconditions every time. We see that they do not want to sign the treaty,’ Mirzoyan said on Wednesday during a panel discussion on the margins of a security forum in Warsaw.
According to him, Azerbaijan claims that much remains to be agreed upon, but there is no single document in the world that would include all issues.
'We can sign the document and continue working on the remaining issues. Over the past two-three years a huge work has been done despite all the challenges, escalations, attacks on the territory of Armenia, Armenia is in a constructive mood during the negotiations,’ Mirzoyan said.
According to Mirzoyan, not a single serious escalation has been recorded since the deployment of the EU monitoring mission on the border with Azerbaijan.
This mission monitors the situation only on the territory of Armenia, Azerbaijan refuses to deploy it on its territory. The mechanism of the mission really works and we highly appreciate the efforts of the European Union,’ Mirzoyan said.
