Armenian government approves delimitation regulations for Armenia-Azerbaijan border

YEREVAN, September 5. /ARKA/. The Armenian government approved on Thursday a set of regulations governing the joint activities of the commissions responsible for the delimitation of the Armenia-Azerbaijan border.
The new regulations outline procedures for organizing delimitation work, drafting relevant documents, and preparing a protocol detailing the border’s exact crossing points. The regulations also include the creation of a delimitation map and the formation of expert groups to aid in the process.
The approved provisions will supplement the legal framework needed to ensure the effective progress of delimitation efforts. They also address procedural issues between Armenia and Azerbaijan once a border agreement is signed.
"The establishment of the international legal basis for Armenia’s state border is a legal guarantee for security, the inviolability of borders, and territorial integrity," reads the justification for the regulations.
On August 30, Armenia's Foreign Ministry announced that Yerevan and Baku had signed a regulation for the joint work of the delimitation and demarcation commissions of their shared state border.
