The five men who were wounded Sunday in armed attack on a police station in Yerevan will continue receiving treatment in hospitals, the pres office of the Armenian health ministry reported on Tuesday.

YERЕVAN, July 19. /ARKA/. The five men who were wounded Sunday in armed attack on a police station in Yerevan will continue receiving treatment in hospitals, the pres office of the Armenian health ministry reported on Tuesday.   

An armed group stormed a police station in Armenia's capital Yerevan on Sunday and took multiple officers hostage, demanding the release of Zhirayr Sefilian, the jailed opposition leader of Founding Parliament movement.

According to the police, one police officer had been killed and five others and one attacker wounded. 

Two top police officials, deputy police chief Vardan Egiazaryan and Yerevan deputy police chief Valeri Osipyan, were among those being held hostage.

The health ministry says two wounded are in Erebuni hospital – one in stable condition and the other in satisfactory condition.  

The state of one wounded men in the defense ministry’s hospital is satisfactory as well. 

Another policeman, who is now in the First University Clinic ‘Heratsi’, is in critical condition. --0---
