Armenian, Iranian Foreign Ministers discuss regional stability, bilateral cooperation
YEREVAN, September 11. /ARKA/. Armenia's Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan met with Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister Mohammad Hassan Sheikholeslami on Tuesday to discuss bilateral and regional issues, according to Armenia’s Foreign Ministry.
The officials emphasized the importance of cooperation in areas of mutual interest, reflecting the high-level political dialogue between the two neighboring and friendly countries.
They addressed regional developments, particularly efforts to achieve long-term peace and stability in the South Caucasus. Mirzoyan highlighted the ongoing peace process with Azerbaijan and stressed the need for unconditional respect for principles such as territorial integrity and sovereignty within the framework of the "Crossroads of Peace" project, which aims to unlock regional transport and economic routes.
Mirzoyan also praised Iran's firm stance on opposing any changes to international borders that undermine the political independence of nations. Iran has consistently voiced its disapproval of border changes that contradict international law.
