The National Assembly of Armenia amended the government structure law on Wednesday at its extraordinary session.

YEREVAN, May 31. /ARKA/. The National Assembly of Armenia amended the government structure law on Wednesday at its extraordinary session.
The amendment was prompted by the necessity of complying with the Constitution adopted in 2015, in accordance to which the number of ministers must not exceed 18.
Arthur Hovhannisyan, first deputy justice minister, said the amendment implies enhancement of the management effectiveness and a smooth transition from semi-presidential to parliamentary governing model.
In his words, the bill replaces “the political position of the minister-head of government staff” with “the conceptual post of the head of staff”.
Until recently the seat of the minister-head of the government staff has been held by David Harutyunyan, who just became justice minister. --0---
