Armenian premier speaks about reasons for signing trilateral agreement to end Artsakh war
YEREVAN, November 10. /ARKA/. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan spoke live from his Facebook page about the reasons for signing a statement with the presidents of the Russian Federation and Azerbaijan to end the war in Artsakh.

There will be explanations, but not now

"In the current situation, it was not possible to solve something else. I plan to say in more detail why, what was the reason, to talk in detail about the events of the last month. I cannot do this now for one simple reason: because now the cessation of hostilities in process and if I say something now, I can put people in danger," he said.

According to him, a week after the situation stabilizes it will be possible to tell with all possible details.

“I understand that I have to give meaningful and detailed explanations. I am ready to give them today, but why don’t I? There is a problem associated with information dissonance. In the conditions of martial law and war, each proposal has an impact on military operations. And we understand this and you have to understand. Facebook statements go to the front line very quickly and reach the enemy very quickly," he said.

The head of the Armenian government stressed that it is for this reason that he cannot say everything that he has to say today.

"I want you to understand one thing: this decision was made as a result of an analysis of the military situation and as a result of assessments of those people who have the greatest command of the military situation," Pashinyan said.

The Prime Minister said that this decision was made taking into account the military situation, not only the current one, but also its possible continuation.

Accusations of ex-officials

Prime Minister Pashinyan noted that among the people who engage in brawls [now in Yerevan - ed.], There are representatives of criminal groups of oligarchs who have stolen from soldiers and the army for 20 years, did not pay taxes, and today they talk about the nation and betrayal. Pashinyan emphasized that now this category of people took to the streets, because for them it is an excuse to protect the loot when the police and the SNB are in positions in Artsakh.

According to the prime minister, today it was not possible to have a document of a different content, since for 25 years some people "drank to our soldiers and the army", ate bread bought with stolen money, and hoped that they would "get out" in the negotiation process. The head of the Armenian government stressed that for so many years no one thought about how all this would end, and did not notice "that we are heading towards this day."

"I knew this, because from the first day I learned about the content of the negotiations in a state where all the resources for tricks were already depleted. And what did I do? I did not go, took this negotiating legacy and said that I would make its results, but tried to prepare for this day, did everything that could be done in 2-2.5 years. And our army fights with honor for 44 days, bearing countless hardships," he said.

No one will escape responsibility

According to Pashinyan, the situation at the front is unstable, and now it is important to do everything so as not to harm.

"I understand emotions, they should be shown, but we will still have time to conduct this conversation in detail, and no one responsible will escape responsibility. Including me, if I am responsible, I will not escape responsibility," the prime minister said.

The head of government also called on citizens not to succumb to provocations.

"I want you to know and be sure that I myself, our government and government representatives have done everything possible so that we do not reach such a result. Why this did not work, this is the most important task, and there should be a detailed discussion about this so as to clarify the whole context," the prime minister said.

Pashinyan also said that all the orchestrators of today's crimes will be brought to the strictest responsibility.

Trilateral agreement

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said that he signed a statement with the presidents of Russia and Azerbaijan to put an end to the war in Karabakh from 01:00 (local time). He noted that the text of the statement, which has already been published, is unspeakably painful for him and the people. Pashinyan said that he made this decision as a result of a deep analysis of the military situation and the assessment of people who know this situation better than anyone else.

War in Artsakh

Since September 27, Azerbaijani troops have been carrying out military aggression along the entire length of the contact line in Artsakh, conducting artillery and rocket attacks, including against civilians and civilian infrastructures. Strikes were also carried out at civilian and military targets on the territory of Armenia.

The Azerbaijani side is supported by the Turkish Armed Forces and the foreign terrorist mercenaries recruited by it. The Turkish-Azerbaijani aggression encounters a decisive rebuff from the Armenian Armed Forces along the entire frontline.

According to the official reports on the Armenian side, Azerbaijan sustains huge losses in manpower. Its death toll since the beginning of the war is 7,630. Also 264 UAVs, 16 helicopters and 25 aircraft have been downed as well as 784 armored vehicles, 4 Smerch and Uragan rocket launchers as well as 6 TOS units have been destroyed since the beginning of war. More than 1,110 Armenian servicemen have been killed and several hundred people were wounded. As a result of the war crimes committed by Azerbaijan, 50 civilians were killed and 148 wounded in Artsakh.

Since the beginning of the war, there have been three attempts to establish a humanitarian ceasefire. All three agreements, which were reached on October 10 through the mediation of the Russian Federation, on October 17 through France and on October 25 through the mediation of the United States, were violated by Azerbaijan. -0---
