Armenian president proposes to adopt CSTO collective security strategy

Serzh Sargsyan, Armenian president, speaking Tuesday in Dushanbe at a session of the Collective Security Treaty Organization's board about Armenia’s priorities within its next-year CSTO chairmanship, pointed out the necessity of adopting a collective security strategy for a period until 2025.

YEREVAN, September 15. /ARKA/. Serzh Sargsyan, Armenian president, speaking Tuesday in Dushanbe at a session of the Collective Security Treaty Organization's board about Armenia’s priorities within its next-year CSTO chairmanship, pointed out the necessity of adopting a collective security strategy for a period until 2025.
He said that the organization has passed two decades of accomplishment.
«This work should be continued on the system basis with a clear focus on mid-run period,» the president said. «And therefore, I propose place on record the completion of elaboration of the CSTO collective security strategy for a period ending in 2025 and its adoption in 2016 as one of top priorities,» Novosti-Armenia quoted Sargsyan referring to RIA Novosti.
The Collective Security Treaty Organization members are Russia, Belarus, Armenia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan. --0-----
