Artsakh army denies Azerbaijani allegations of shelling

YEREVAN, March 9. /ARKA/. Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) Defense Army has refuted today an Azerbaijani army report alleging that Artsakh troops shelled their positions on March 9.

“On March 9, the Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan issued a statement alleging that Artsakh Defense Army troops used firearms to fire on Azerbaijani combat positions after which they had to return fire. This statement has nothing to do with reality: the Artsakh Defense Army not only did not open fire on Azerbaijani positions, but, as we reported earlier, on March 7 and 8, units of the Azerbaijani armed forces fired mortars twice in the direction of Khramort village,” the Artsakh Defense Army said.

According to the Artsakh Defense Army, in recent days the ceasefire regime has been regularly violated by the Azerbaijani armed forces. It said also that these incidents were reported to the command of the Russian peacekeeping contingent. -0-
