CE Secretary General Thorbjørn Jagland will head to Armenia for an official visit in mid May to discuss priorities of Armenia’s chairmanship of the Council of Europe, Armenian foreign minister Edward Nalbandyan said, as quoted by Novosti-Armenia.

YEREVAN, March 7. /ARKA/. CE Secretary General Thorbjørn Jagland will head to Armenia for an official visit in mid May to discuss priorities of Armenia’s chairmanship of the Council of Europe, Armenian foreign minister Edward Nalbandyan said, as quoted by Novosti-Armenia.

During Jagland’s visit the priorities will be finalized, Nalbandyan told his Lithuanian counterpart Linas Linkiavichus at a briefing in Yerevan.

The finalized priorities will be submitted in Strasburg on May 16.

During Armenian chairmanship of the CE a number of important events will be held at parliament and foreign ministries level.

“A meeting of mayors of CE cities is planned. We would like to take the advantage and hold several cultural events in Strasburg”, Nalbandyan said.

Armenia is to take over the chairmanship of the Council of Europe in May. -0-
