YEREVAN, October 16. /ARКА/. The processes of delimiting the Armenian-Azerbaijani border and opening communications are not directly related, stated Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
"In areas where communications construction is to begin, demarcation and delimitation (of the Armenian-Azerbaijani border - ed.) are expected to be carried out so that infrastructure can be built in this area and the border's location is clear," Pashinyan said at a briefing on Thursday.
He recalled that the Commission on State Border Delimitation and Border Security between the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Azerbaijan and the State Commission on Delimitation of the State Border between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Armenia will continue their work. "On the Armenian side, these processes are coordinated by the same Deputy Prime Minister," Pashinyan said.
On September 5, 2025, delegations from both countries conducted mutual visits to each other's territories under the leadership of Armenian Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan and Azerbaijani Deputy Prime Minister Shahin Mustafayev.
The parties continued to discuss issues related to the delimitation and demining of relevant sections of the border, as well as the restoration and construction of necessary infrastructure and the timeframes for their implementation. The goal is to synchronize efforts to establish communications.
