The head of the EU Delegation to Armenia, Ambassador Piotr Switalski, expressed European Union’s support for Armenian authorities in the implementation of effective measures aimed at combating corruption and strengthening the independence of the judicial system.

EU to support Armenia’s anti-corruption fighting

YEREVAN, June 9. /ARKA/. The head of the EU Delegation to Armenia, Ambassador Piotr Switalski, expressed European Union’s support for Armenian authorities in the implementation of effective measures aimed at combating corruption and strengthening the independence of the judicial system during a meeting today with Justice Minister David Harutyunyan.

According to the ministry, during the meeting the ambassador noted that the European Union emphasizes the ongoing improvements in Armenia’s judicial system.

For his part, Minister Harutyunyan thanked the Ambassador for his support in implementing important programs in Armenia and expressed hope that the cooperation between Armenia and EU will continue producing tangible results.

He also discussed with the ambassador the possibilities of cooperation with the EU in improving the e-government system and the Labor Code of Armenia. -0-
