France considered friendliest country in Armenia – poll
YEREVAN, December 22. /ARKA/. The residents of Armenia consider France to be the friendliest nation for their country, according to the findings of an opinion poll conducted by the Russian Public Opinion Research Center (VTsIOM) and the Eurasian Monitor association.
Some 69% of the respondents in Armenia named France as the friendliest country, Russian daily "Kommersant" reported.
Russia was the second friendliest country (52%). Only the residents of Moldova (40%) and Azerbaijan (38%) have less positive feelings towards Russia. At the same time, 26% of Armenians consider Russia as an unfriendly country.
The citizens of several former Soviet republics surveyed are interested in various types of humanitarian assistance from Russia and other states, but to a different extent.
In Armenia, as well as in Moldova, Tajikistan, and South Ossetia, the demand for external humanitarian aid is higher.
The residents of Armenia and Moldova (82% each) are most interested in financial assistance. Armenia is also among the countries requesting medical equipment, supplies, medicines and vaccines (82%).
The survey was conducted in August-November by VTsIOM together with the Eurasian Monitor association at the request of Rossotrudnichestvo (Russian Federal Agency for the CIS Affairs, Compatriots Living Abroad, and International Humanitarian Cooperation) in Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, and also in Abkhazia and South Ossetia. -0-
