Georgian PM offers Armenia and Azerbaijan trilateral co-operation in South Caucasus
YEREVAN, 17 January. /ARKA/. Georgia has offered neighboring Armenia and Azerbaijan an initiative aimed at trilateral cooperation in the South Caucasus, the Georgian government's press service reported.
Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze announced the proposal in Baku at a meeting of the Georgian-Azerbaijani intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation.
‘I am confident that by joint efforts we will overcome all difficulties, using the existing opportunities for even more effective cooperation. We are sincerely interested in implementing concrete practical steps and promoting co-operation in the region. Georgia proposes to the parties an initiative aimed at trilateral co-operation. It envisages involvement of all three South Caucasus countries in various fields,’ Kobakhidze said.
In the context of regional cooperation, according to the Georgian prime minister, it is important to ensure the successful functioning of energy and transport routes, as well as the settlement of existing conflicts.
