YEREVAN, September 2. /ARKA/. The Armenian government decided today to allocate over 25.2 million drams to the Police for the preparation of local self-government elections in several communities in Lori, Syunik and Tavush provinces.

Territorial Administration and Infrastructure Minister Gnel Sanosyan said the elections will be held under the proportional electoral system (by party lists) on November 14, 2021.

Deputy Prime Minister Suren Papikyan recalled that local self-government elections in the country are scheduled for October 17, November 14 and December 5. He also said that before the elections some communities are likely to merge into a larger one.

"The process has already started with public hearings on the local level. In the near future there will also be parliamentary hearings and, probably, next week the ministry will say which of the communities will merge and when," he said ($1 - 493.6 drams). -0-
