Greece’s president to arrive in Armenia on a state visit

Greece’s president Carlos Papulyas will arrive in Armenia on Monday September 29 invited by his Armenian counterpart Serzh Sargsyan, the press office of the Armenian president reported.

YEREVAN, September 27. /ARKA/. Greece’s president Carlos Papulyas will arrive in Armenia on Monday September 29 invited by his Armenian counterpart Serzh Sargsyan, the press office of the Armenian president reported.

Papulyas is expected to meet with president Serzh Sargsyan, speaker of the Armenian parliament Galust Sahakyan, premier Hovik Abrahamyan, says the report.

Greece’s president will pay floral tribute to Tsitsernakaberd Armenian genocide monument, according to the report.

A number of documents will be signed at the presidential house to strengthen Armenia-Greece relations. The two presidents will make public statements about the outcome of the talks afterwards. 

The presidents will also attend the Armenian-Greek business forum held as part of Papulyas’ visit in Yerevan.

Greece’s president will make a trip to Garni temple (1st century A.D.), the only pagan temple that survived Christianization in Armenia. –0--
