YEREVAN, May 5. /ARKA/. Valery Permyakov, a serviceman at Russia’s military base in Armenia’s city of Gyumri, sentenced to life imprisonment for murdering a family of seven, will serve his prison sentence in Russia, a representative of the North Caucasus military court, which confirmed Thursday the verdict of Armenia’s court.

Earlier, Permyakov’s public attorney, Eduard Agajanov, didn’t rule out that the convict would be extradited to Russia and serve his sentence there.

The family - a middle-aged couple, their daughter, son, daughter-in-law and 2-year-old granddaughter -was found shot dead in their Gyumri home in 2015 January morning. The Avetisyan family’s seventh member, a six-month-old baby boy, died of his stab wounds a week later.

Valery Permyakov was arrested when trying to cross the Armenian border and later charged with the murder of two or more persons.

On August 12, 2015 Permyakov was found guilty of desertion, theft of weapons and sentenced by the fifth garrison military court that is under the North Caucasus Military Court to ten years in high-security prison.

The murder case was singled out for considering it in a separate procedure and passed to the Armenian authorities.

On August 23, 2016, the court of Armenia’s Shirak province, has found Valery Permyakov guilty on all counts.

The court sentenced Permyakov to life in prison for a multiple homicide. -0---
