Armenian Investigative Committee exposes plans of "Sacred Struggle" movement to seize power

YEREVAN, June 25. /ARKA/. The Investigative Committee of Armenia stated that the participants and leaders of the "Sacred Struggle" movement planned to carry out terrorist acts and actions aimed at seizing power in the country.
"In order to realize their criminal intent to seize power, the members of the criminal group planned to commit terrorist acts. In particular, they were going to mine tunnels in Yerevan and on other roads in the republic, stage dozens of traffic accidents on large, busy streets and avenues. They also planned to paralyze traffic throughout the country by damaging or setting fire to vehicles, as well as to carry out explosions, fire at the walls of buildings and structures, damage or destroy power supply and military communication cables," the Investigative Committee said in a statement.
According to the department, members of the criminal group were simultaneously planning to disable electronic control systems and websites of the Armenian government and other government agencies through hacker attacks, with the ultimate goal of destabilizing the activities of state authorities.
Urgent investigative and other procedural actions are being carried out within the framework of the criminal proceedings initiated on this fact, the Investigative Committee noted.
Message from "Sacred Struggle"
The Telegram channel of the "Sacred Struggle" movement reports that searches have been conducted in the homes of the organization's supporters since early morning.
"Law enforcement officers are also conducting actions in the house of Archbishop Bagrat Galstanyan," the message says.
The Prime Minister's Position
The day before, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan shared a pdf file from the Civic am website on social networks, entitled "The Opposition's Coup Plan." In particular, it sets out actions that are supposed to gradually lead to the overthrow of Nikol Pashinyan's regime and the transition to a new system of power.
Today, Pashinyan shared a press release from the Investigative Committee, adding that "a large-scale and vile "criminal-oligarchic" plan to destabilize and seize power in the Republic of Armenia has been thwarted." -0-
